LB-LED

The LB-LED beacon light is a signaling lamp designed for the luminous marking (beaconing) of tall objects (antennas, chimneys, etc.) to prevent aircraft collisions with these aerial obstacles.

Low-intensity Type A lamp – over 10cd. Continuous operation beacon lamp.

Models:

The beacon light is equipped with energy-efficient light sources with an extremely long operating life: 4 LED 1W light sources with a lifespan of up to 100,000 hours.
No interventions are required during operation for replacing the light sources. For connecting to the power supply and maintenance, the product does not need to be disassembled.

The product is equipped with terminals for remote connection to a green LED indicating proper operation. The housing and red filter are made of UV and solar radiation-resistant polycarbonate.

The function of a dual lamp is ensured through special protection and operational safety measures:

  • Each of the 4 LEDs has an independent power circuit.
  • The failure of one LED or an electronic component in the power circuit does not compromise the operation of the other LEDs. Such a failure is remotely signaled by the deactivation of the green control LED.
  • With three LEDs still operational, the photometric requirements for a Type A beacon lamp (minimum 10cd) are maintained.

Specifications:

  • External cable diameter: 6..14mm
  • Signal LED cable: minimum section 1mm², maximum length 25m.
  • Color: grey, red diffuser.

Field of Use

Nighttime luminous marking of obstacles posing a danger to air navigation.
It is mounted on structures up to 3000m altitude.

Compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Convention

  • ICAO Aerodromes Annex 14 Vol. I, Paragraph 6.3, Edition November 2004:
    • Type A beacon lamp with a luminous intensity of 10cd (+6°…+10° from the horizontal plane), vertical beam width >10°.
    • Horizontal light intensity distribution angle: 360°.

The LB-LED beacon light fulfills the functions of a dual lamp.

Light Source Used

  • High-power LEDs with lateral emission and a lifespan of 50,000 hours (equivalent to 14 years of operation at 10 hours/day).
  • The source emits aviation red light with a wavelength λ= 625nm.
